The train rolled Hollywood awards this week after the celebrity news pages are filled with the latest recipients at the annual meeting of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) honors. Normally, the stars were in place to support the event, which recognizes film and television performances in the last 12 months.

A glittering ceremony held at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles with celebrity gossip columns furious debate over the style options of candidates and visiting stars. Two of the highest honors within the walls of the room, however, went to a predominantly British film. King's speech is now applause left, right and center at the time and has scooped 12 nominations for this year's Academy. The film took the gong for Best Performance by a Cast in a Motion in the SAG awards, as well as raising the Actor in a Leading Role category of Colin Firth.
